Federal Account Number Transaction
Requirements
On December 4, 2003, President
Bush approved a federal law which preempts existing state laws requiring
truncation of account numbers on customer receipts, thereby creating
a uniform national standard. This legislation, called the Fair and
Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003, provides (among many other
things) that "no person accepting credit cards or debit
cards for the transaction of business shall print more than the
last 5 digits of the card number or the expiration date upon any
receipt provided to the cardholder at the point of sale or transaction.
The law governs electronically printed receipts and does not apply
to transactions in which the sole means of recording the credit
or debit card account number is by handwriting or by an imprint.
In Texas, the deadline for truncating the card numbers was
January 1, 2006. If your credit card numbers are not
being truncated, you need to upgrade your Aloha system to 5.3 or
better.
Radiant Systems’ Aloha Solution
Growth for Regional Powerhouse Ninety Nine Restaurant increases operational
efficiencies
ATLANTA (July 24, 2006) — Radiant
Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RADS), a leading provider of innovative technology
to the hospitality and retail industries, and CCR Data Systems,
a Radiant channel partner, announce a partnership with Ninety Nine
Restaurant, a brand of O’Charley’s Inc. with headquarters
in Woburn, Mass. Ninety Nine currently uses three Aloha applications:
Aloha TableService point-of-sale (POS), Aloha Labor Scheduler and
Aloha Kitchen Production System. Additionally, Radiant 1510 terminals
will be used in all new sites and as upgrades for aging equipment.
Restaurant owners are seeking ways to increase
efficiency and decrease costs. The Aloha software allows employees
to serve customers and fill orders quickly and more accurately with
less time and less waste. And, after testing three sites with six
terminals each for a period of over six months, Ninety Nine determined
that the reliability, speed of ordering and service on the Radiant
hardware warranted an increased commitment to CCR and Radiant. In
addition to providing software, implementation and support desk
services, CCR and Radiant will also provide hardware, installation
services and on-site maintenance.
