A
Back-up Modem Can Help When Internet Problems Arise
If your internet is down, or you are having
internet problems, a back-up modem can help keep your business running
smoothly. However, some credit card processors do not support automatically
rolling over to a back-up modem (RBS Lynk does). To initiate dial-up
credit card processing, turn off high-speed processing in your EDC
program. Here are the steps:
• Login to the EDC program.
• Go to File->Stop POS Processing.
• Configure->Processors
• Double click your current processor.
• Un-flag the box that says “Use SSL or Secure Socket
Layer.”
• Then press OK and then Done.
• Turn POS processing back on at File->Start POS Processing.
When your internet comes back up, make sure
to re-flag the box that says “Use SSL or Secure Socket Layer.”
So purchase a back-up modem now to save you hassles in the future,
and check to see if your current credit card processor supports
automatic roll over to a back-up modem.
For more information about purchasing
a back-up modem, or RBS Lynk credit card processing, contact Ross
