Be Prepared in the Event of an Emergency

There may be times when it might be necessary to unplug your POS system for whatever reason (i.e. in the event of a hurricane and you want to salvage your equipment).  In this event it is a good idea to have all your cables labeled if they are not already, so you will be able to reassemble your system with more ease when it is time.  All you have to do is simply label each cable connection from every terminal and printer, by either marking directly on the cable with a Sharpie or just wrapping a sticky note around the cable.  For example, you might label one cable with "kitchen printer com 2."  This simple tip will save you a lot of time and frustration in the event of an emergency.
